Dog training in Los Angeles can be an adventure, just make sure your dog is well prepared for what you’ll encounter. Being prepared means your dog needs to have the proper training and history to be reliable under distracting conditions. When training your dog in Los Angeles, especially the more unusual places, don’t put your dog or other people in what could be a dangerous situation. You need to “know your dog” and have an idea about how it will act when under stress. Some dogs might find a casual stroll in Beverly Hills a challenge while others can enjoy the thrill of meeting a giant teddy bear in Hollywood.

No matter what level your dog is at, you as the handler need to develop and maintain a certain degree of awareness. Awareness will let you know how much stress your dog can handle. It will also tell you when the dog is over stimulated or under too much pressure. The idea of doggy outings in the greater Los Angeles are is to have fun with your four footed friend, as well as with human friends and family. I suggest that whoever has done the most training and knows the dog best be the primary handler on these dog training adventures. By having a designated primary handler if a problem arises the trainer who is best prepared to deal with the emergency will, by design, come to the dogs aid and manage the situation.

It is important to maintain awareness whenever you take your dog out to encounter the excitement of training in the Los Angeles area, or anywhere for that matter. While awareness is important one must also develop the flexibility to adapt to changing conditions. One place people learn how to be flexible with their dogs in dog training programs.
